Hi, I’m Gretchen.
I am a bilingual multimedia journalist from the Dominican Republic, based in New York.
I have always been drawn to reading, with a focus on social issues, arts and entertainment. Originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, I am fluent in Spanish, which helped me gain a wider view of the world through an international lens.
What began as a love for writing turned into something much bigger: making news accessible to everyone. From print to broadcast as well as audio, my goal is to bring information to Spanish-speaking communities during an ever-changing news cycle. I combine cultural sensitivity with sharp wit and quick story turnaround to deliver news that is as accurate as possible.
I hold a B.A in Multimedia Journalism from Lynn University and an M.A in Bilingual Journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
